About
I'm Elliot Anderson, a sound designer and hobbyist composer based near Seattle, WA. I also play principal oboe for the Olympia Chamber Orchestra, teaching private lessons and coaching on weekends.
You'll regularly find me participating in game jams to meet new people and try new ideas. I thrive on communicating with others collaboratively and creatively, and excel at receiving, acting on and giving constructive critique. Solving creative and technical problems with a team is a large part of what keeps me hooked on video game work.
Early on, a roommate first introduced me to digital audio in FL Studio, and I immediately deviated from music into sound design. Eventually, I migrated to REAPER where I quickly found myself at home, built a few TouchOSC templates, and amassed a collection of great software from Kilohearts, Melda, Izotope (RX), Bitwig and many others. I also favor REAPER for music composition, making heavy use of Performance Samples, Infinite Series, Spitfire and other less traditional libraries, alongside frequent use of synths. For recording, almost everything goes to a Zoom F8N through different Oktavas and EM258 mics.
Aside from sound and music, my free time is enriched by participating and making friends in game jams; sculpting and learning about texturing and animation in Blender; learning more about game design & development; building TouchOSC templates; hiking Mt. Rainier; and immersing myself in atmospherically dense, psychological and mysterious games like Inside and Half-Life 3. And occasionally making oboe reeds.
